Manufactured in Yorkshire at AW Hainsworth’s mill, which has been producing performance fabrics since 1783, the Smart cloth sits above the Club range in Hainsworth’s hierarchy, offering greater weight, density, and colour fastness for venues where tables see serious use. At 460gsm, the Smart is heavier than the Club’s 435gsm construction, delivering a more consistent nap, improved ball roll, and a playing surface that holds its performance properties significantly longer under commercial conditions.

The 95% Merino wool and 5% nylon blend gives the Smart its balance of resilience and playing feel. Merino wool provides the natural speed and accuracy that serious players expect, while the nylon content strengthens the weave against the abrasive wear that comes with high-traffic environments — pubs, arcades, leisure venues, and amusement centres where tables run through dozens of frames a day.
